COMPLIANCE, SAFETY AND ACCOUNTABLITY FOR NON-DRIVERS COURSE OVERVIEW
CSA stands for Compliance, Safety, and Accountability. It is a system for gathering data about drivers and carriers, and using that data to generate a score. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) uses this score to judge and compare driver and carrier safety performance.
What you may not know is how the job you do, as someone who doesn't drive, affects your company and its drivers under CSA. Even though CSA focuses on drivers and carriers, you and other non-driving personnel in your company have an important role to play.
This course begins with a brief overview of CSA. The lessons that follow will cover some of the specific ways that CSA affects your job and the jobs of other non-driving personnel. It will also explain how you and others can have an impact on your company's CSA score.
In this course, you will learn:
How the CSA system works
Which BASIC categories affect your job and those of other non-driving personnel
How carrier and driver safety performance are evaluated using BASIC scores
Why non-driving personnel can have an impact on their carriers' and drivers' BASIC scores
How non-driving personnel can help prevent violations that affect BASIC scores
